Clark foam
I was given an old blank this evening while picking up my sons buddy. It was in the rafters of an old shed, pretty haggard and old, wish I knew how old. A lot of dents, gouges and chunks missing. Looks like a cat attacked one rail. Missing a good chunk of the tail. The time worn wounds will steer the final shape which will have a hidden story. On top of that its a clark foam blank, which to those who know, well you know how long I can wax on about diving into that blank with a 10,000 rpm planer. Will I get another Clark foam blank under my planer in my lifetime? For those who dont know, Clark foam is a legacy that closed shop in 2005. So what to shape? Its a fish blank 6' x 24" actually has some rocker, its crazy heavy but I'm used to light eps foam. Its a super green which I think was the first blank I shaped in college but I dont remember it being that heavy. It would be hard to shape a traditional fish out of it, its original intention, due to the big chunk out of the tail. I will have to let this sink in, any suggestions?

Wood Quiver
Met up with a good buddy in Santa Cruz for a board delivery and a little family vacation. His quiver consisted of two Balsa boards! Serious wood quiver between the two of us.
Family water wagon
Longboard style paddle board. A family cruiser for a dedicated surfer. Carbon Innegra rails, cork pad, and gear lash down plugs. Biggest board I have built so far!

My first post with the new website. Welcome! Its been a cazy amount of work to get this site up and ready. Huge gratitude goes to my sis-inlaw Sam Tripodi for her stylish design instincts, and patience with my not-so-techy self and brutely rough photography skills. Thanks to Wes Sumner for all the beautiful photographs (like the one below). If a photo is so-so on my site, it's because it is not one of Wes's. Super lucky to know Pete Strietmann and Brian Christensen and get their keen input. When I hit the Bay Area, I just want to go talk boats with Pete then catch a session with Brian. Thanks for the help chaps.
