Orion
Orion
Named after a local fisherman who I made the original model for, this has become a personal favorite for good overhead waves that are tough to get into. Full outline and volume forward, moderate rocker, pulled in foiled tail, and the speed of a quad fin set-up. Flat to slight concave, deep double with slight vee out the the tail. Works surprisingly well in shoulder high surf too. There are 180 to 200lb 40-year-old family men with jobs and average ability riding 6'6" x 20 1/2" x 2 7/8" in northern waters with 5 mil wetsuits. Wood: Port Orford Cedar, Redcedar
